Recipe for Captain D’s Crispy Fried Fish
Cut the captain d batter recipe into 1 1/2-inch strips. In a plastic bag, season the fish with 1 tsp of chilli, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shake the fish in a sealed bag until it is coated. Add 2 tablespoons of flour, then mix once more. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, 1/2 tsp paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl to make the batter. Add water until the mix has the consistency of pancake batter.
Heat the oil in a skillet with a heavy bottom.
If extra water is required to reach the desired consistency, add it now. Alternately, you may use an electric deep fryer to bring the oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit in a heavy-bottomed skillet on medium heat.
While the oil is heated, add the fish in the batter and mix with your fingers until all pieces are coated. When the oil is heated, add the fish pieces one by one. This must be done in batches; do not overcrowd the pan. It takes around 8 to 10 minutes to flip the beef midway through the cooking procedure.
When the fish’s temperature on the inside reaches 165 degrees
Fahrenheit and is golden brown, use tongs to pull it out of the oil and place it on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. As soon as the fish comes out of the oil, sprinkle it with more kosher salt to help it stick. Continue cooking until all of the captain D batter recipe is done. Serve with wedges of lemon and any sauces you like, like sour cream or tartar sauce.
Exactly what sort oil should you use to fry fish?
We think that peanut oil gives the best flavour, but you can also use shortening, soybean oil, or vegetable oil. No matter what you decide, it will work. Peanut oil costs more, but it has the best taste overall, you can get discounts through captain d’s coupons.
How Come My Fish Isn’t Crisp?
The batter and the oil are the two main reasons. You don’t want a thick batter, so if it is thick, try adding a bit more water to thin it out.
How to keep this fish from going bad
This captain D batter recipe can be kept in the fridge for approximately three days in a sealed jar. That is the most you can make with this recipe. You can heat it up in a low oven until it’s hot all the way through, keeping the crispiness and going to add a little more. The longer it stays in the fridge, the more mushy it will get.
Cod is our favourite fish to use in this captain D batter recipe, but any flaky white fish will do. Use water as cold as ice for the batter. Do not put too much fish in the pan, or it will not cook evenly. When served with your favourite dipping sauces, this is very tasty.

Lobster Roll Recipe
The best thing about living near the ocean is being able to get so much fresh fish. I like seafood in general, but the captain d batter recipe makes me feel like I’m in heaven. This Lobster Roll Recipe is something I’ve been making for a long time. It is a very simple dish with just a few ingredients, but those are enough to give it flavour while letting the lobster flavour stand out.
Should I coat my fish in flour first?
Gary and Simon say to flour the fish first and then dip it in the batter, but if your batter is thick enough, this shouldn’t be necessary. In fact, when I try it using Rhodes’ recipe, I get a little soggy, thick product that only Alex likes, who has an odd taste for captain d batter recipe.
Why does the batter on my fish fall off?
If the captain D batter recipe is put or tossed into the fryer too rapidly, the batter will likely spread out or only a small amount will stick. The key is to gently move the fish around in the batter as you put it in.
