  • The respective university shall apply the existing policies regarding category, relaxation, quota, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences, etc.

  • Securing passing marks or appearing for the entrance test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission unless they fulfil the eligibility conditions of the university they are applying for.

CUET Eligibility Criteria – Course wise

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria for the particular university before filling out the registration form, as each university has different criteria. Course-wise, eligibility criteria are given below. Students can refer to these details while applying for the exam.

Undergraduate Courses

Minimum 50% marks in class 12th for General category candidates and 45% for SC/ST candidates are required to be eligible for the CUET Exam.

The required subjects according to the desired course are – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Postgraduate Course

General category – Minimum marks are 55% 

SC/ST/OBC/PWD students –  50% minimum marks are required. OBC candidates have different cut-offs in some places.

Candidates must clear the Bachelor’s degree in the same field of the course they want to opt for the Master’s.

PhD. Programme

If the candidate has cleared GATE, NBHM, UGC-CSIR JRF, or qualified in any other National level Exams, they will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test but must register for CUET 2022.

For general candidates, 55% minimum marks in the Master’s degree in any stream, 50% minimum marks for OBC candidates, and 45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
