Plum is a popular Indian fruit grown extensively in China apart from India. Its plant is thorny, and depending on the varieties, the length of the plants may vary. Where is Ber Cultivated
Ber can be cultivated anywhere, and you can grow its plant in the fertile and barren land. Planting Method
Planting of ber plants is done by preparing saplings with cuttings. Before planting ber saplings, clean the pits. After cleaning, prepare a small pit in the middle of the hole. After this, use cow urine or Bavistin to treat these pits. If there is a termite problem in the field, treat the pits with neem cake or linden powder before planting the plants. After this, take out the plants from the polythene and plant them in the pits. Now press the plant with light soil from all sides.
Planting saplings in a commercial way can be produced in two types of seasons in a year. And in the second time, the plants have to be buried in the months of August to September after the rains. Plants can be grown in any season except the cold season for transplanting only.
Irrigation
Plum plants do not require any unique irrigation. But initially, water has to be given for plant development. During this, ber plants should be watered immediately after sowing. Then, water is provided when needed in the rain. Then, when the flowers start blooming on the plum plants, do not give water at all, and during the formation of fruits from the flowers, give appropriate water.
Weed Control
The natural way is perfect. In the natural process, the first weeding of the field should be done after 3 months of sowing. After this, whenever weeds are seen in the ber field, remove them. Fully formed ber plants need only 2 weedings in a year.
Harvesting
Ber plant starts bearing fruits after about 3 years of sowing. Its completely grown plant produces 100 kg of fruit. The price of plum in the market is Rs 30 per kg. According to this, 3 thousand rupees can be quickly earned from one tree. This way, producing plum plants in one hectare can make a whopping amount of 30 lakh rupees.
